this one's for linnea...

.... who worries when there are not enough blog updates.
I just learned this on Wednesday night.
Lesson to G: call your friends.

Let's see here... what have I done lately?
Updated the race blog......
Watched a whooooooole heck of a lot of soccer.
Yoga-ing.
Walked the dog.... who now totally knows that the first thing we do in the morning is take our walk, so I'm greeted each morning by a furry little face in mine reminding me that HE is up and therefore it is time to go.
Eating ridiculous amounts of CSA veggies...
Got excited about summer trips.... ready for a vacation. Hoping to get through some of this list with some of my favorite people.
Just being. With Mike and Max.... Being grateful for this time. It is so easy for me to look forward, to want more. And yet-- this is good.... this is really good. And I am lucky. I think I sound like a broken record with that... but life is good.

So let's see here... I need some new music and some new books for traveling.
Suggestions are currently being taken in the comments section, please and thank you.

life in may (and the first day of june)...

Lately, Max has been doing the cutest/strangest thing...
We take our walks in the mornings, and I always shove my socks in my running shoes after we get home... for the past two days, I couldn't find my socks to throw them in the wash. Instead last night, I found one sock in Max's chair, one in Max's bed, one by the window ledge, and one in our bed... my socks sorta tell the story of the Maxxy's day, I suppose.
But then today he ate his chair.
That was not so good or cute.
He must know he's turning 5 tomorrow. He's almost over the hill in dog years.

Mike and I have been playing soccer together. Both of us were having the best time... I really like the work team he plays on, and I love my body reminding me the next day just how hard I kicked my own butt the night before.
Mike broke his big toe in our game on Wednesday.
No more soccer for him until at least July... he's more than a little sad... and it makes me sad for him, especially because we made a pretty good team.

We joined a CSA for this summer-- Community Supported Agriculture. Every Thursday I pick up a huge box of seasonal, organic produce-- and that box just makes me smile. Huge leaves of bok choy, green onions, tiny pink radishes, nearly purple lettuces, perfect crowns of broccoli. And Mike, my dear picky eater, is trying all of it. And I am so proud.

My friend Katie is coming down for the weekend. Just to hang out (and we shall let Mikey ice his foot in peace). She's one of my all time favorite people... when Alex died last year, she just got in her car and drove the 6 hours from DC to me. I want to be there like that for her... she's one of those people I just learn so much from every time I'm around her.

My camera is supposedly fixed. This is a good thing.
Perhaps someday I will remember to take a picture-- of the little socks buried throughout our house, of Max now sleeping in a ball on the hardwood floor because I won't put his chair back by the window, of Mike's giant purple big toe, of all my wonderful veggies and the meals they make us, and perhaps even of Katie while she is here.
Perhaps.

Happy weekend, loves.
