poop, puke, and root canals

That's my week.
Poop from the Ev-- greeeeeeeeeeen and gross and now with the extra addition of blood? Apparently all totally normal, according to my pediatrician. But still-- as if I didn't panic about this baby enough already.
Puke from Max-- four times in about 15 minutes today. Yeah. That warranted a vet trip even though he's the little dog who cries wolf after his faked "back injury" a few weeks ago (hey, it worked-- undivided mama time for a night). One injection of anti nausea medicine and some spendy food later, we're hoping not to see any more regurgitation tonight
... and the root canal is mine. Oh joy. And not just a normal one. Oh no. A lovely procedure called apical surgery. Way fun for me. Not only that, but the endodontist my dentist recommended could get me in on the third-- of JULY. Ahem. Good thing I'm not in pain or anything-- oh, wait, I am!
.... and yet, as I get to kiss the fuzzy head of this sleeping warm baby, I remember how blessed I am. Thank you God for giving me a baby to worry over and adore, a crazy dog to keep life interesting, and a different dentist with a Thursday appointment for me.
Hope you all are having wholly uneventful weeks.

he loved her

....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so much.
(he's a smart boy, as we ALL love the E oh so much)
Aunt Erika taught me how to leave the house... and to trust in my instincts as a mama a wee bit more. But I still claim someone named Ev is slightly partial to that Aunt of his over the stinky mama. Thanks to my sisser I actually took the small one shopping, and nursed in semi-public (the Nordstrom's lounge isn't quite sitting on a mall bench, but hey-- it's a huge step for me). She also kept me as sane as possible during Ev's first immunizations AND let the furry one share her bed-- so I had a happy Max all visit, too.
She's the best.
We miss her.
LOTS.
Come back now. Bring my cousins, Ev says!

why we love aunt erika...

... because she wakes up bright and early to see the boy
and acts just like it is Christmas.
We love her.

6 weeks in stripes

(aka a post for Aunt Julie's friends)
6 weeks ago, just home from the hospital:

... and today.

He's grown, eh?
And look at this new smiling trick in his rapidly shrinking crazy stripes....

Love this boy.
